Medical Device Evaluation Centre
MeDEC is part of a new focused team of doctors and other professionals providing training, testing and research services intended for manufacturers and innovators of medical devices and equipment.
We are based at the Wales College of Medicine, Cardiff, UK and are led by Dr Tony Wilkes.
The team draws on the extensive experience of equipment testing
gained by staff previously contracted by the former Medical
Devices Agency and the the Medicines and
Healthcare products Regulatory Agency. The team is
supported by medical staff, including Consultant Anaesthetists,
based at the University Hospital of Wales.
